to Kirkwood |

Kirkwood
is on beautiful California State Route 88. Please
check our
highway / weather / navigation links before leaving
home, even in summertime
From So.Lake Tahoe
(40 minutes w/no traffic, dry roads, no wind):
West on Hwy 50, turn left (South) onto Hwy 89 after Agricultural Inspection
Turn right (West) onto Hwy 88
Drive 14 miles
past 89/88 interchange, you'll see Kirkwood Inn & gas station
on right,
Left at stone Kirkwood Resort
sign (Kirkwood Meadows Drive)
From Stockton CA (2
hours):
East on Hwy 4. North onto Hwy 99.
After only 1.5 miles on 99, take Waterloo
/ Hwy 88 exit.
Turn left to
stay on 88, 1.5 miles after
town of Clements
88 uphill about 60 miles
past Jackson; Right at stone Kirkwood Resort sign (Kirkwood Meadows
Drive)
From Sacramento
Hwy
50 east, take "Power Inn Rd" / Hwy 16 exit; turn right at the
light;
Turn left at Chevron, stay in right lane; Turn right on Hwy 16.
After about 30 miles turn right (South) on Hwy 49.
Left (East) on 88 in Jackson. About 60 miles
uphill; Right at Kirkwood Resort sign (Kirkwood Meadows Drive).
From Reno Airport
Go South on Hwy 395,
take the "Carson City" exit
at the south end of Reno (you are still on Hwy 395).
Follow Hwy 395 through Carson City.
As you approach Minden, turn West (right) onto
Hwy 88 (Dairy Queen and Wendy's on the right).
About 30 miles
on 88; left at Kirkwood Resort sign (Kirkwood Meadows Drive).

From Hwy. 88, turn south onto Kirkwood Meadows Drive
Continue for 1.4 miles, turn left at the 3-story "Base Camp" sign.
Go to the last building on your right.
You will see the office as you turn in toward the building, next to condo
9.

& highway conditions before leaving home.
Don't forget tire chains & snow shovel.
Also,
there are only a couple gas stations between Pioneer and Kirkwood
(driving east of Jackson on 88). There are no
gas stations west of Gardnerville on Hwy 88, or south of Myers on Hwy 89.
